Vick started in place of an injured Kevin Kolb, who suffered a concussion in last weeks loss to Green Bay, and went 21-of-34 for 284 yards. He added seven carries for 37 yards for the Eagles (1-1), who dropped a 27-20 game to Green Bay in the opener at home last week. Vicks last start was on December 31, 2006 when he was with Atlanta. "It was great being out there today, it was great to have the opportunity to make plays for this team," said Vick. "We started off slow, but we were able to fight back and get this win here today." Kolb failed his concussion testing this past week, but has been cleared to practice with the team next week. Philadelphia head coach Andy Reid had previously stated that Kolb will be the starter when he is ready to play. LeSean McCoy had the best game of his career as he scored three times on the ground and finished with 16 carries for 120 yards, while DeSean Jackson added four catches for 135 yards and a score. Jeremy Maclin caught the other touchdown pass. Shaun Hill, making his first start as a Lion due to Matthew Staffords shoulder injury last week, went 25-of-45 with 335 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Lions (0-2), who lost to Chicago last Sunday, 19-14. Rookie Jahvid Best continued to impress as he totaled 232 yards from scrimmage and scored three times. He has scored five of Detroits six touchdowns thus far this season. "Youd take a bad win over a tough loss anytime, and today was a tough loss," said Detroit head coach Jim Schwartz. "There were a lot of situations that came up today where we didnt have the matchups we wanted. Shaun battled and put the ball in his spots, but he took too many hits and we need to do a better job of protecting our quarterbacks." The Eagles appeared to have control of the game when McCoy scored his third touchdown of the game on a 46-yard run for a 35-17 lead with 6:17 to play in the game. Hill, though, quickly marched his squad down the field and covered 80 yards in just over two minutes with the drive capped on a two-yard run over left tackle into the end zone by Best to make it a 35-24 game with 4:13 left on the clock. Detroit forced Philly into a three-and-out and got the ball back at its own 45 with 3:01 to play. On the first play, Best caught a short pass and took it 17 yards into Philly territory. Best added another 12-yard catch and an 11-yard grab by Brandon Pettigrew got the ball to the 14. After an illegal formation call nullified a Calvin Johnson touchdown, Hill again found Johnson in the end zone and Johnson caught the two-point conversion to make it a 35-32 game with 1:50 to play. On the onsides kickoff, Riley Cooper grabbed the ball, but dropped it and Detroit recovered at its own 43 with 1:48 left on the clock. However, four straight incompletions sealed Detroits fate as the team had to hand the ball back to Phiilly and Vick took three straight knees for the win. Texans Matt Schaub Jersey Detroit started the game with the ball and advanced into Philly territory, but on 2nd-and-10 at the 33, Hill lofted a pass into the end zone and Nate Allen came down with the ball to give the Eagles possession at their own 20. The Eagles needed just four plays to get into the end zone for a 7-0 lead. On 1st-and-10 at the Detroit 45 after a roughing the passer call, Vick hit Jackson over the middle and the speedy receiver ran through the defense to paydirt with 8:39 left in the first. The Lions responded on their ensuing touch and used the ground game to good effect. Runs of 13 and 33 yards by Best got the ball deep into Eagles territory. On the sixth play of the drive, Best took a draw right up the middle and into the end zone from 14 yards out to tie the game with 5:39 left in the first. Facing a 3rd-and-3, Vick heaved a pass down the left sideline and Jackson came down with the ball for a 35-yard reception that was initially ruled a catch. The Lions, though, challenged the call and it was overturned, forcing the Eagles to punt. Detroit took the lead on its first possession of the second quarter. The team managed to move just 12 yards over seven plays, but it was enough to get into scoring position and Jason Hansons 49-yard field goal gave the team a 10-7 lead with 12 1/2 minutes left in the half. The Lions limited Philly to just one first down on the ensuing touch and got the ball back at their own 20. Three plays later, Hill dumped the ball off to Best in the right flat on a screen play and the running back raced through the defense to the end zone for a 75-yard score and a 17-7 lead with 8:16 left in the half. The Eagles answered on their next touch. Facing a 3rd-and-9 near midfield, Vick avoided the pressure and hit Cooper over the middle for the wideouts first career catch and a 20-yard gain. Several plays later on second down, McCoy took a delayed handoff up the middle and into the end zone from 14 yards out to make it a 17-14 game with 3:53 left in the first half. Phillys defense held Detroit on the next touch and the team got the ball back with 1:12 to play. On the third play, Vick heaved the ball down field and Jackson came down with it for a 53-yard gain. Several plays later, Vick connected with Maclin just over the goal line for a nine-yard score to give the Eagles a 21-17 lead heading into the locker room. After an exchange of punts to start the third quarter, the Eagles padded their lead with a nine-play drive that covered 65 yards and saw McCoy punch the ball into the end zone from four yards out with 5:54 left in the period.
